Principal's Message

Welcome to Maple Hill, the Home of the HAWKS!

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the Principal at Maple Hill Elementary School. Maple Hill is an incredible place for all who walk through its doors. The staff at Maple Hill have pride in their work and strive every day to make Maple Hill a special place to come to. We have innovated teachers and dedicated staff members committed to providing students with opportunities to cultivate their kind hearts, strong minds, brave spirits, and Hawk Pride.

Our Mission Statement says it all. “At Maple Hill, it is our mission to establish a school environment where every student has the opportunity to receive a stellar education — one that meets their individual needs in a safe and loving environment where their hearts are ignited, their spirits are encouraged, and their minds are challenged. We strive to ensure that all students who walk through the Maple Hill doors are given the tools, skills, and support to discover their true self-worth, make the impossible possible, and are inspired to make the world a better place.”

Maple Hill Elementary is the recipient of the 2016 Gold Ribbon School Award and has been recognized as a California Distinguished School two times. We take pride in the balance between academic rigor and character development. Maple Hill also has been a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) school since 2014. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students to achieve social, emotional, and academic success. In August of 2017, Maple Hill received the “Gold” Award from The California PBIS Coalition. In August of 2021, Maple Hill was the recipient of the “Platinum” Award for our work in promoting positive behavior intervention supports with our students and showing that we have tiered level supports for our students both academically and behaviorally. This award is a great honor and another testament to all of the great things happening at Maple Hill.

As the Interim Principal, it is essential that everyone who steps through our doors - students, teachers, and family members alike – are excited to be here and feel like they belong!  This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.

I look forward to a fantastic year. If I can be of any assistance, please email me at [email protected] or call the front office at (909) 861-6224.

Fondly,
Mrs. Kimberly McNeil
Principal

MORGAN HILL UPDATE AND TO DO

Hello,

The latest update regarding Morgan Hill is available on the link below:

http://www.cde.ca.gov/nr/ne/yr16/yr16rel18.asp

In summary, the judge has received mass mailings of objection to releasing student data from the CDE, that she ordered the CDE to maintain custody of the most sensitive of its databases, the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) while running searches for information requested by the plaintiffs. The court also reiterated that no student personally identifiable information may be released to the plaintiffs unless and until they demonstrate to the satisfaction of the court that the method to be used to store the sensitive student data is secure. The parties are still litigating the extent of the disclosure of student data.

This information was presented to Coordinating Council earlier this week. An update will also be made on the District website.

As a reminder, the notice of objection form is to only be sent to the judge and not to WVUSD. If you are asked, please emphasize this with your parents.
